Medical Advice Systems

The healthcare system is in the dark ages as it relates to accessing the power of the computer. Unlike other industries that have information at a keystroke away, in healthcare, records are scribbled on paper and stored in cardboard boxes, and moved to inaccessible and expensive storage sheds.

Prizm uses the power of the computer to speed development of the center of excellence. Because symptoms come and go, there is a value in identifying those people with degenerative disc disease. Consequently, Prizm centers have databases of thousands of back and neck pain sufferers. We then communicate with them economically, rather than with expensive mass promotion.

This requires a change of mindset among some groups. We favor the installation of an RN who in addition to other duties within the spine center, can answer general questions from back pain sufferers, as well as enhance the referral relationship with case managers and physician referral sources.
